My name is Mark Rendeluk most people call me Mr. Paint because I always do crazy paint jobs. And I love to go fast. I think that’s my purpose in life just speed and paint. Speed is my addiction, I drag race pro mod cars that go over two hundred mph I drag race an 8 second motorcycle and now my latest addiction, the mile. our first trip to the Texas mile left us with a taste for more with our zx 14, record setting was on the brain after that, we thought how hard can it be, ridding the bike is just a small part of the skill anybody can twist a throttle, but to maintain the secure level feeling at 190 plus with a 25 mph wind hitting you turning the bike sideways proves to be a very different skill level. The thought of how much horsepower comes as quite another problem. Everyone goes out expecting to hit 200mph there first time out. Mathematically it should work but no one takes wind into the factor, our experiences this weekend were a ride that I will learn from to come back even stronger and bullet proof or the next event. The wind was a steady 24mph almost directly into the bike on the line. We started out putting 100 shot of nitrous on the bike we had already been 191 all motor how much more do I need.  I am the type of guy that says go big or stay at home. I am out to set a record or blow it up trying. The first pass out of the trailer we blew right through the clutch with a touch of the button in 6th gear and we only went 190 in the mile. Coming back I was thinking how in the heck I didn't think about the clutch, one more thing I overlooked for the weekend. More tests on the bike found electrical problems as well. As we start debugging night falls and we decide with no spare parts we are close enough all motor lets try to set the all motor record. So we gear the bike back and start our work to get out first thing Sunday morning. First pass the bike runs 191.38 very disappointing as I go back to the wet nitrous idea; I think how we are going to fix the clutch. then Kevin cook comes over and says the guy next to me has a new set of racing springs, ill help you put them on and also sand the clutch plates that were burned to a crisp, so with Kevin on one side of the bike and myself on the other we get started on what proves to be quite a ride. we go back up to the line excited and pumped thinking this is it, if all the electrical problems were truly fixed and the nitrous doesn’t blow threw the clutch I am doing it, I am going to be the worlds fastest nitrous powered ZX 14. I take off, 1st gear real easy second gear 3/4 throttle twisting to wide open then slamming into 3rd/4th/5th/ then into 6th there it is 1/2 mile mark pushing the button tucking down into a little ball squeezing the nitrous button as hard as I can flying down the ft wheel becoming so much lighter the clutch was working beautiful as I pass the 3/4 mile the gps reads 204 man this is it I am really going to set the record, then the rev limiter kicks in, we ran out of gear before crossing the mile marker on the limiter 196.99 mph. so close but more inspirational than I could ever imagine I still have a bigger ft sprocket to put on the ft, a 19. This is it, I said after Danny and I whip out the ft gear change in about 15 minutes. Excitement falls over us all as we come up to the starting line fresh full bottle of nitrous and fresh fuel. As I approach the starting line expectations are high everybody asks are you going to be the first 14 to break the 200 mph barrier at the Texas mile. and I say its going to happen or I will blow it up trying we leave the line and the bike pulls harder than ever through all the gears I pass the 1/2 mile mark and  push the button it takes off like a plane trying to leave the runway, ft end up off the ground I start to tuck hard and push down on ft end at the same time we are flying and pulling so hard I don’t even have time to look at the gps speed, we cross the 3/4 marker and the worst feeling and sound happens in the world we lose #2and 3 cylinders as the bike turns into a twin cylinder I cross the mile marker at a depressing 186.45mph. But I did what I set out to do we were still the fastest zx 14 at the mile although I didn’t accomplish the 200 mph barrier I did blow it up trying. We learned a lot from this experience at the mile and I also met a lot of new friends. Most important we had a lot of fun. Without the fun it just wouldn’t be worth it. We are currently building a "bullet proof motor for the nitrous to be friendlier to. Look for us to come out strong in the Maxton mile, we should be out by the May event if not June for sure and we will be coming out big!    Look for more info at  www.mrpaint.net
